This hillside was a waste of space and impossible to maintain. We cut it back and added some support in order to make it safer and more functional for the cleints. The difference is already amazing, but it will be even greater once the plantings are in!
The UVM Englesby house in Burlington is a location we have done work at over the past few years. Recently it needed a bit of a face lift to really bring it back to life and let our previous work shine. It isn’t common to find such a large and beautiful formal garden in the middle of the city which adds to the location's overall charm. The use of brick in the front walkway and backyard patio ties in nicely with the home. With the addition of some plantings the location is as vibrant and lively as ever.
Our crew has finished work at this St. Johnsbury home! The landscape is complete with planting beds, a patio, a walkway, and oh, did we mention a giant waterfall?! These clients can now enjoy dinner on their patio while listening to the calming sounds of water falling down shelves of rocks into a retention pond.
This residential home in Littleton, New Hampshire, is in for a serious makeover. We are beginning with about 3,000 square feet of granite cobble stone to form an entryway that will match the already existing granite stone work as well as compliment the scale of the house. This is only a small part of the entire project; still to come are the installations of a swimming pool, patios, and large scale plantings.
This client had a failing hillside. It was nearly impossible and dangerous to try to mow because of how steep it was, and it was taking up usable space. The slope extended right up to the back of the house leaving the client without much of a back yard. We were able to turn the area into livable space with boulder walls and mortared core walls to support the slope once we dug some of it away. These walls will prevent the sandy ground from future erosion. We also added stone stairs...
This customer came to us for a solution for an existing retaining wall that had failed. We were able to rebuild and extend the wall with stone from Allen Block, in order to prevent future run off. Now not only is the wall convenient and effective, it also doubles as an elegant hardscape.
August 12-14, 2016, marks the 15th year when friends of the Travis Roy Foundation will meet at Little Fenway in Essex, Vermont, to have a backyard WIFFLE Ball tournament. The Travis Roy foundation focuses on shortening the path to a cure for spinal cord injuries and helping spinal cord injured survivors who are in need of adaptive equipment improve their quality of life. Landshapes was able to help by re-grading and compacting the gravel so that it is handicap accessible. We also did drainage work...

This customer had a 20-year-old landscape that was not well maintained and had failing masonry work. We installed a mortared core wall that will last for hundreds of years, an expansive patio for entertaining friends and family and a 300,000BTU fire pit for roasting marshmallows and taking the chill out of the cool Vermont evenings.
